Mental Note: Stay the Hell Out of Brighton City, Michigan!
There is a new law in Brighton City, Michigan making it illegal to be annoying in public. Violators will be ticketed and fined. My question is, who is the judge of what is annoying? Considering how thin-skinned many in our society have become, they will not have enough paper to write all these tickets on, since anyone can become annoyed over anything for any reason. Here is the news story about it, please tell me what you think:http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2008/12/19/national/a133558S95.DTLMichigan city bans being annoying in public Friday, December 19, 2008(12-19) 17:38 PST Brighton, Mich. (AP) --Ticking someone off could get you a ticket in one Michigan city. The Brighton City Council on Thursday approved an ordinance allowing police in the Livingston County community to ticket and fine anyone who is annoying in public "by word of mouth, sign or motions."The Livingston County Daily Press & Argus of Howell reports the measure is modeled on a similar ordinance in the Detroit suburb of Royal Oak.A city attorney says there could be situations where the measure would violate freedom of speech, but that those cases will be...

Hi i'm an expat who has been living abroad, sometimes i get reall homesick but recently i discoered something really cool which i believe would appeal to expats from london or brighton UK and this is a local lifestyle online tv channel, it features social partys, filmed events, gigs etc.. and when i click on it is really cool as i can see exactly is going on in my home town. every city should have one. check out www.absolutebrighton.tv or www.absolutelondon.tv.anyway enjoy your weekend im going to go get myself a nice ice cold beer!
Boom boom Brighton
Brighton bids bye bye to hate rappers who sing a song called boom boom bye bye to the batty boy. Brighton, a town in the south of England (England, a small damp country, noth east Atlantic, so all Americans can join in) has become the first city to ban such filth. However the ban has been jumped upon as racist by black groups. Ijust wonder if they would have been so quick to condemn the ban if the words had been boom boom bye bye to the black boy? i think not

Where to stay in Brighton
My new husband and I want to go away for the long weekend to celebrate our marriage and were thinking of Brighton...we want to know if anyone has a place they could recommend to us as soon as possible. Thanks a lot!
I Guess You're All Suitably Rested, So We'll Walk On...
Right... we've had our rest from the first part of the walk now, and hopefully, you've had time to digest the atmosphere and surroundings, refreshed sufficiently to walk on. So, we'll resume our walk in a southerly direction, on down the path, through the rest of the woods, to the second millpond. As we take up the path, we come to a fork, the left leading deeper into the woods and up to the footpath beside the main London to Brighton road, and the right, towards the second millpond, where we're headed. Once again, we're walking upon a leafy carpet, under an archway of rich, green trees. Shafts of sunlight pour through the leaves onto the ground in front of us... all is still now, and all that can be heard for a while is the sound of birds fluttering in the undergrowth and branches of the trees, and maybe the odd deer creeping around in the woodland in the hope of not being spotted by us.We pass some marshy ground on the right, which is the level to where the pond rises during the wetter months. Reeds grow in the marsh, and broken, fallen branches rest in a haphazard pattern on the ground. Ahead, we can see the sunlight as the footpath comes into more open territory......
A man dies after being dragged for 17 miles under a car.
How bizarre is that, I am surprised the driver didn't realize or feel that there was something dragging under his car, see story below:Police are questioning a driver in Brighton Beach after it was discovered he had struck a pedestrian -- 17 miles away, near Shea Stadium -- and unknowingly dragged him into Brooklyn. The bizarre incident started in Corona at about 6:15 a.m. when the driver of a sport utility vehicle called 911 to report he believed he had just struck someone at 51st Avenue and 108th Street.Officers who responded found no evidence of an accident, but about 7 a.m. a pedestrian in Brighton Beach saw a dead man under a 1998 Chevy minivan. The passerby told the driver to stop, and police were called. When officers were dispatched to the area of Neptune Avenue and Brighton 10th Terrace, they found the dead man under the van, police said.
Brighton "healthiest" city in Britain
Brighton is the healthiest city in Britain with the highest level of personal trainers, yoga clubs and health food stores, according to a survey released on Friday. The study, which looked at a range of 19 statistics covering health, fitness and environment, said the southern English resort had the highest number of residents who eat at least five portions of fruit and vegetables a day.The research, conducted for the Sky Travel channel, compared 15 cities across the UK. Bristol and London were the next healthiest cities, with Liverpool, Glasgow and Sheffield the least healthy. It said Brighton residents lived to an average of 78 years, a year more than the average of the 15 sampled cities. They are twice as likely to walk or cycle to work. Compared to the national average, the resort has nearly a third more health food stores per head and two-and-a-half times as many personal trainers. It had twice as many yoga clubs per head than the other cities sampled, while the level of obese inhabitants is below the national average. Last year a survey found that Brighton residents had the best levels of cholesterol and blood pressure in Britain.
Should I live in Brighton or Edinburgh?
I'm going on a working holiday in Britain soon and need to choose between Brighton And Edinburgh. Both sound lovely and I'm having a hard time deciding between them. Advice please?s many personal trainers. It had twice as many yoga clubs per head than the other cities sampled, while the level of obese inhabitants is below the national average. Last year a survey found that Brighton residents had the best levels of cholesterol and blood pressure in Britain.
